While working at World of Style by Porter Davis, I was part of the design team who refurbished the kitchen displays at World of Style. The third area that we worked on was the Resort style kitchen.
This kitchen needed minimal changes, with the layout already working a treat. The brief was Byron Bay meets Modern Bali. On trend and as this Resort style kitchen is one of the largest in the showroom we wanted to appeal to the younger demographic who have growing families and have embraced this style with open arms. We also needed to reach the more mature client base as well and as they are generally the hosts for many large gatherings, including the big one in December, this kitchen definitely gets their attention.
For the run of overhead cabinetry we selected natural finish Laminex in the colour Possum. Colours from nature continue needed to be the running theme throughout the refurbishment of all of the three kitchens. The existing island stone and base cabinetry remained the same due to the popularity of both the materials and the colours.
The affordable National Tiles Whoosh tile as the splashback adds movement to the kitchen and draws the eye to the space. The on trend, dainty gold handles and tapware bring a young, luxe element to the space. The fun, oversized rattan pendant lighting from Beacon Lighting above the island bench is important as it adds another texture and layer to the space. The soft shadows these lights throw would make dining at this island bench so inviting.
We truly feel we got a lot of bang for our buck in this kitchen and our clients responded in the best way possible by selecting many of the colours and materials on show for their homes.
