While working at World of Style by Porter Davis, I was part of the design team who refurbished the kitchen displays at World of Style. The first kitchen display that we worked on was the Designer style kitchen. The Designer kitchen renovation was a complete renovation. We did keep the footprint due to it being in a showroom and costs to re orientate would have been excessive.
This display kitchen had been designed and installed 6 years ago, so it was certainly ready for an update.
Timing is everything. We knew that Laminex was launching a new range of colours that took inspiration from nature, so we wanted to incorporate this forward trend into our new Designer kitchen and follow it through to the Resort and Contemporary kitchen displays.
Showcasing Laminex Winter Sky in the cabinetry, including on the internal finish of the doors and drawers gives it a certain luxury. With hints of bronze in the kicker and black metal peppered throughout, this gave us the opportunity to move away from the well known black and white designer style into a bolder, more modern story.
The Silestone Calacutta Gold benchtops are a surprisingly subtle statement that cruise their way into a striking splashback with a concealed rangehood and push to open cabinetry. even the fridge is concealed and shuts itself if the humans forget.
The galley has certainly become a hard-working space in the home, so we wanted to display as much as possible to give the client’s as many options as possible. We used Laminex Fox Teakwood in the Chalk finish as it is a tough competitor. We showcased the shark nose cabinetry as an alternative to handles.
This kitchen also has an abundance of bells and whistles, which gives the client a real touch and feel experience.
